In conversation with Bob Wachter

6th April 2016

‘In conversation with Bob Wachter…’ is taking place on Wednesday 6 April.

Join us for an evening of conversation, insights and anecdotes from Professor Bob Wachter, the academic leader of the hospitalist movement.

Bob Wachter, MD is Professor and Interim Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. Author of 250 articles and 6 books, he coined the term “hospitalist” in 1996 and is generally considered the “father” of the hospitalist field, the fastest growing speciality in the history of modern medicine.

Professor Wachter is currently leading a review of computer systems across the NHS for NHS England. The review “Making IT work: harnessing the power of health It to improve care in England” will look at places where IT has worked well and those areas that need improving. It will also look at different ways to implement IT in healthcare as the NHS works towards being paperless by 2020.

During this special invite only CHNi, Bob will be speaking about his work with CHN co-chair Pam Garside. In this relaxed setting, we hope to get some real insights into what the hospitalist movement means for the NHS and where the future of IT in healthcare lies.
