Upcoming C3 events
C3 Collaborating for Health is holding two events in April, and one in June, that we think you might be interested in attending:
Thursday 11 April
C3 International Breakfast Seminar with Dr Nico Pronk, vice president for health management at HealthPartners, USA: A lifestyle metric that measures the association between health and work performance
The premise of this seminar is that health cannot be managed unless it is measured. Dr Pronk will be talking about a metric that looks at health behaviours – being physically active, eating ‘five a day’, not using tobacco, and drinking alcohol in moderation or not at all. This ‘optimal lifestyle metric’ monitors population-level changes over time, demonstrating a strong correlation between behaviour and rates of NCDs, as well as emotional health and productivity at work. Dr Pronk is a faculty member at the Harvard School of Public Health where he currently teaches evidence-based worksite health and is a visiting faculty member on the WHO Workshop on Non-Communicable Disease Prevention at the Ministry of Health and Welfare in Helsinki, Finland.
The seminar will be held at the House of St Barnabas, 1 Greek Street, Soho, London, W1D 4NQ, from 8.30am – 10.00am. Breakfast is available from 8.00am.

Monday 15 April
Do businesses care about health? Co-hosted by St Mary-le-Bow Church and C3 Collaborating for Health
The event will explore the serious impact of non-communicable diseases on economic growth and international development. The impact on economies is clear: over the next 20 years NCDs will cost the world more than $30 trillion. World Economic Forum research has shown that half of all business leaders fear that NCDs will hurt their bottom line in the next five years so the private sector needs a strategic vision on how to encourage healthier lifestyles among consumers and employees. By bringing together speakers who have experience across the business, health and NGO world, this event will highlight the importance of working across sectors, set out the scale of the problem globally, make the case for action, and share some ways in which business can get involved. The event will be opened by the Rt Hon. the Lord Mayor, Alderman Roger Gifford and will be chaired by the Reverend George R Bush, Rector of St Mary-le-Bow Church. The speakers for the debate are Katherine Ward (chief executive officer, UnitedHealth UK), Fiona Dawson (president, Mars Chocolate UK) and Christine Hancock (founder & director, C3 Collaborating for Health).
The debate and a short reception will take place at St Mary-le-Bow Church, Cheapside, London, EC2V 6AU, from 6.30–8.00pm.

Prior to joining the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi, Dr Harrison spent five years with McKinsey and worked across the UK, Singapore, Germany and the US.
